About the Community Engagement Program

LPCS provides a valuable service in the Lincoln Park Community as a referral source for those in need. Neighborhood churches, hospitals, and police direct people in need of assistance to the LPCS Community Engagement Program (CEP) for resources addressing temporary housing and other services. LPCS and the CEP program also provide social services to hundreds of people yearly in addition to those who are enrolled in the Interim Housing and On Track Programs. These may be former guests of  LPCS, those on the waiting list for Interim Housing, or those struggling to stay in housing. CEP provides basic services such as showers, laundry, clothing, toiletries, Sunday dinner, and wellness checks provided by UIC doctors, medical, and pharmacy students one Sunday per month. CEP is held at LPCS’ satellite location on Sundays. The CEP program also provides appointments during the week for individuals to receive more in-depth social services such as case management and referrals to shelter and housing, and registration for LPCS’ Interim Housing Community.
